5 Tips to Cut Your Wedding Costs!!!!

1. Rent your wedding dress.  Or after your wedding, you can rent out the wedding dress you bought to others.  It is affordable and eco-friendly!

2. Hand make your wedding favors.  There are loads of websites with lots of do-it-yourself wedding favors that cost less than $2 each.  Plus, studies show that a little bit of constructive craft time can reduce stress. :)

3. Try visiting a culinary/ cake baking school for your wedding cake.  It could cut the costs significantly!  The students usually need to practice making wedding cakes as part of their curriculum, and so they would be more than glad to make one for you.  However, keep in mind that their cakes may not be similar to those of professional pastry chefs.  

4. Consider offering a wedding buffet instead of a several-course dinner.  This is often more affordable because there is less labor (and food) put into making a buffet.

5. Think for a moment, you have probably have that one friend who’s makeup always looks fabulous?  Why not save hundreds of dollars and have her do your makeup?  Or, if you would still like a professional, consider going to a department store/Sephora/MAC to get it done, and have your friend provide the touch ups. :)

These are 4 Quick Tips on How to Choose Your Perfect Wedding Cake!

1.  Make your wedding guest list and see how many you are expecting.  It will make it easier for you to design your cake budget, and have a size estimate in mind for when the cake designers ask.  Also, start to make appointments with several bakeries to do a taste testing (the good ones can fill up quickly).

2. Advice you will never hear from your dietician - Eat Cake! Lots of it.  Do lots of taste testings, visit bridal shows, bakeries and everywhere else.  Consider trying cakes with flavors that you would never imagine - pumpkin cream, peanut butter, Nutella, orange creamsicle, spicy carrot cake. There are so many choices out there!

3.  Now that you know what you want it to Taste like, indulge in another sense and decide what you want it to Look like.  Look through bridal magazines, websites, do image searches.  Try different search terms that reflect Your style like “unique wedding cake”, “vintage wedding cake”, “fashionable wedding cake” or even “crazy wedding cake”.  

4. Don’t forget the details!  You can add sugar flowers, real flowers, sugar pearls, cake toppers, sugar rhinestones, and anything else to a cake!  Or you could have your wedding designer add details to the cake once it has arrived at your wedding.  This is what many people hire our designer, Saadia, to do!
